LA Council Not Done With Greek
The proposal by the Los Angeles Board of the Recreation and Parks Commission to self-operate the Greek Theatre as an open venue looked like a done deal when it adopted the plan at its April 15 meeting. But the L.A. City Council may have the last word yet.

Councilman Paul Koretz placed a motion on the council’s April 28 agenda requesting a report from RAP, presumably GM Mike Shull, on how such an open venue plan would work “including all related and outstanding issues that may arise from switching to this new approach.”
The motion was seconded by five other council members, including Bernard Parks – who had voted in favor of approving Live Nation’s bid in the original RFP vote in February. Nederlander has operated the venue for some 40 years.
