The fundraising campaign to beat ALS sponsored by Dan & Melanie Spellens has now surpassed $150,000 allowing Cedars Sinai to hire two new research assistants.

The retired Long Beach Arena exec recently added $25,000 to the total from sponsorship pledges for his cousin Greg Phillips who ran in the recent Boston Marathon.

The Spellens thanked all of their friends for support and in particular named Paul Tollett and the power duo of Shelli and Irving Azoff.
