The move follows the announcement that former chief exec Sarah Osborn had left the organisation with immediate effect April 30. Dyball will continue in her current role as chief exec of MCPS, IMPEL and PMLL.

“I would like to thank Sarah for her contribution to the MPA. She has left in place a strong organisation and a capable staff, and I look forward to working with them as we take the MPA on the next exciting phase of its journey,” Dyball said on taking over.

Dyball was appointed chief exec of MCPS, IMPEL and PMLL in January 2014, following a 20-year career at Warner/Chappell Music where she ran business affairs outside of the U.S. and Canada, as well as directing business strategic issues on areas such as digital rights and collection societies, and where she headed up WCM’s digital rights initiative.

She has spent many years sitting on industry boards such as PRS for Music, MCPS, IMPA, ICMP and MPA. She started her career at the independent publisher Virgin Music.
