Justin Hayward’s Solo Journey

Justin Hayward won’t be sitting idle once The Moody Blues concludes its June tour of the United Kingdom and Europe.  The guitarist will keep on rocking through September with shows on both sides of the Atlantic.

Although not an original member of The Moody Blues still performing in the band (that honor goes to drummer Graeme Edge), Hayward has written many of the band’s signature songs, including “Nights In White Satin,” “The Story In Your Eyes,” “Question” and “Tuesday Afternoon.”

But Hayward isn’t known strictly for his Moody Blues work.   He collaborated with bandmate John Lodge on 1975’s Blue Jays and released his first solo album, Songwriter, in 1977.  Hayward also had a hit with “Forever Autumn” which appeared on Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds.
