Mariah Carey vs Bronchitis

Having only begun her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum At Caesars Palace last week, Mariah Carey canceled Wednesday’s gig at the venue, citing illness.

At her Official Welcome to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.

Carey announced the bad news on Instagram approximately 30 minutes before she was to perform:

“Hey guys … I’ve been fighting bronchitis for the past few days … almost better but on mandatory vocal rest per doctor’s orders. I’m so sorry to cancel tonight’s show but I promise to make it up to you!!! Love you always, MC”

But Carey’s promise may not materialize into a replacement date. Gossip Cop reports that a sign at Ceasars Palace stated that the show would not be rescheduled.

Needless to say, some ticketholders were very ticked off.

“I think it’s ridiculous we travelled from England and have never been more excited about a show,” a person sporting the screen name “roxywhittam” wrote on Instagram. “If you’re sick you know you’re sick more than 1/2 hour before the show starts! You’re a joke & you have lost lots of fans by doing this. Expect your album sales to drop even further now.”
