Americana Music Awards Nominations Announced

Rhiannon Giddens, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Lucinda Williams and Lee Ann Womack all picked up “artist of the year” nominations  for the Americana Music Association’s annual awards.

The nominations were announced today at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Ford Theater during a press conference hosted by The Milk Carton Kids – winner of the 2014 award for duo/group of the year.  Streamed by partner Music City Roots, the conference included performances by The Milk Carton Kids, Nikki Lane, John Hiatt, and Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn.

The Americana Music Association holds its 16th annual festival and conference Sept. 14-20 in Nashville. The 14th annual Honors & Awards show takes place at the Ryman Auditorium Sept. 16.
