The second edition of “Closer To The Sun” is planned for Dec. 15-19 at the Sapphire Resort where fans will see three performances by Slightly Stoopid, and two by SOJA, Iration, Pepper and Ozmatli. G Love, Don Carlos, Karl Denson and Ian Neville will participate with exclusive sit-ins and collaborations. The four days of Mayan Riviera sunshine includes several artist-hosted activities as well as excursions, beach games and poolside performances.

“Closer To The Sun is the ultimate pre-holiday getaway for fans and the bands,” Slightly Stoopid’s Mike Doughty said.  “From the beach to the cenotes and ruins, the Mayan Riviera is truly a special place.  We wanted to create an intimate vibes holiday adventure for our fans that is different than any other fan experience.  There is nothing better than being able to jam with your friends in paradise on the beach and share those experiences with a close group of fans and friends.”

“Closer To The Sun” is also about exploring Puerto Morelos and the surrounding area.  The event has partnered with charitable organization Positive Legacy to encourage artists and fans to join in for a day of service and cultural connection with the community.   This comes about by taking actions that impact the area and environment.  Proceeds from a silent and live auction will support ongoing projects in the region.  Guests are requested to bring school supplies and personal care products for donation.

A presale begins May 27 with a general onsale starting May 28 at 2 p.m. EDT.  Check out CloserToTheSun.com for more information.
