The Growlers To Rumble Into Fall

Following a summer playing Euro festivals, Southern California band The Growlers takes its self-styled “beach goth” music into the fall touring season with a month’s worth of club dates.

That’s not to say the band is ignoring the night club circuit until the leaves start falling off of the trees. With a June schedule including festivals such as and , The Growlers will also play clubs in places such as Taos, N.M.; Norman, Okla., and Asheville, N.C.; capping the June run with three nights at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall.

The Growlers’ tour supports 2014’s Chinese Fountain, an album that’s earned the quintet much praise, with Entertainment Weekly describing the band’s sound as “a combination of chiming, reverb-drenched guitars, snappy drums, and frontman Brooks Nielsen’s languid vocals, which suggests a guy who never takes his shades off, even indoors.”
