Police Issue Nickelback ‘Wanted Poster’
In its mission to protect and to serve, the Queensland Police Service posted the alert on its Facebook and Twitter pages along witih an image of Nickelback and the message, “Urgent police warning: Men matching this description expected to be committing musical crimes in Boondall tonight.” Nickelback played the Brisbane Entertainment Center in Boondall Wednesday evening.
CBC News notes that this isn’t the first time Queensland police have messed with Nickelback. In December the department said it would destroy one of the bands CDs that police received as secret a Santa gift.
Nor is it the first time Queensland police have issued humorous alerts about entertainers. The Inquisitr.com reports that in late March the department issued a tweet related to two show biz events – Zayn Malik leaving One Direction, and TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson being dismissed from the show “Top Gear” after getting into a dustup with the program’s producer.
“Take it easy on the wet roads this morning,” the police tweeted. “Possibly being added to from the tears of One Direction and Top Gear fans.”
Meanwhile, the Nickelback crime spree continues with the band playing Sydney’s Allphones Arena tonight, the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Saturday and the Perth Arena Tuesday evening, wanted posters notwithstanding.
