The Get Up Kids Turns 20
Sure, there was the breakup in 2005, but we don’t have to get into that.
The Get Up Kids is made up of vocalist/guitarist Matt Pryor, guitarist Jim Suptic, bassist Rob Pope, keyboardist James Dewees and drummer Ryan Pope. Since forming in 1995 and releasing its debut studio album in 1997, Four Minute Mile, the alternative rock band from Kansas City put out four more LPs, including its most recent, 2011’s There Are Rules.
The group has a handful of dates planned prior to the tour, including Saturday’s set at Atlanta’s “The Wrecking Ball”. Additional festival appearances include Belgium’s Pukkelpop and Riot Fest And Rodeo in Denver.
