Aussie Dates: Sebastian Bach, Beach Boys, They Might Be Giants
Bluehawk has the Mike Love-led Beach Boys incarnation at clubs and open air festivals Nov. 11-21 just as the Australian summer breaks. They’ll be joined at various stops by Australian acts John Paul Young & The Allstar Band, Glenn Shorrock, Colleen Hewett, The Whitlams and new acts Busby Marou, Kim Churchill, Sahara Beck and Good Oak.
They Might Be Giants returns after two years for five theatre dates Nov. 2-7 booked by Metropolis Touring and Select Touring. Los Angeles-based Australian singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell, whose new single “Start Again” reached No. 2 on the Australian charts, will open for Maroon 5’s September arena run alongside Dirty Loops.
Veteran British punk-reggae band Ruts DC makes its first visit to Australia and New Zealand in late 2015. Minovation and Punk Rock Road Trips have them at eight clubs Nov. 12 -21. Los Angeles-based Jenny Lewis, already set for Splendour In The Grass and on Ryan Adams’ club shows, does her own headliner at Sydney’s Newtown Social Club July 22 for Frontier Touring.
After going down a storm in April at Bluesfest, J.J. Grey & Mofro returns for its own run for Bluesfest Touring. The band does the Great Southern and Caloundra Music festivals (Oct. 5 and Oct. 7) and club shows in Melbourne and Sydney Oct. 7-8.
