MSG’s New CEO
CAA partner David “Doc” O’Connor is reportedly taking on a new role as CEO of Madison Square Garden Company.

The deal could be a good fit for O’Connor, who helped launch CAA Sports, which represents many players on the NBA’s New York Knicks.
He also helped solidify a 10-year, $300 million partnership between MSG and JPMorgan Chase in 2010, the New York Post noted, that covers the Knicks and other sports teams in the building plus MSG’s Beacon Theatre, Chicago Theatre and Radio City Music Hall.
MSG’s CEO position has been vacant since March when Tad Smith left to head up Sotheby’s. MSG Executive Chairman has acted as interim president.
O’ Connor is considered one of the partners that reshaped CAA after the exit of Michael Ovitz and Ron Meyer.
