Servant of Love marks the singer/songwriter’s 10th album and her first release on her self-owned label imprint in conjunction with Thirty Tigers.

The LP is due out Sept. 11 in the U.S. and the rest of the world Sept. 25. Griffin once again collaborated with producer Craig Ross.

What can you expect from the new collection of tunes? An announcement from her PR rep says, “Griffin “digs deep into folk and roots tradition with its grounding in the experience and rhythms of the everyday, but she also writes in the vein of another tradition, less often mined: the transcendentalism of writers like Emerson and Whitman. Grounding itself in the natural world and finding patterns there which speak both to human experience and to the call of the spirit, Griffin’s new album weaves an elemental spell out of the stuff of life.”

The tour in support of Servant of Love follows Griffin’s co-headline outing with Mavis Staples – “Sweet Harmony Soul” – which begins July 8 in Interlochen, Mich.
