Band Attacked
Police say three Sacramento musicians from the band Slaves were stabbed and seriously injured in a presumed homophobic attack in the city’s midtown June 22.
Musicians Alex Lyman, Blake Abbey and Weston Richmond posted on social media that the attacker used homophobic slurs because they were wearing skinny jeans.
Guitarist Lyman suffered a four-inch stab on his side, lead singer Abbey was stabbed in the arm and required surgery and guitarist Richmond had minor cuts and broke his hand in the attack. Suspect Timothy Brownell was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and released the following day.
