Jury To 50 Cent: Pay $5M To Woman Who Sued Over Sex Tape

Someone else’s sex tape is proving to be costly for 50 Cent: A New York jury has ordered the rapper-actor to pay $5 million to a woman who said he acquired a video she made with her boyfriend, added himself as a crude commentator and posted it online without her permission.

Jurors made that award Friday. They’re set to deliberate next week on possible further, punitive damages in Lastonia Leviston’s invasion-of-privacy lawsuit against the “Get Rich or Die Tryin’“ rapper.

One of his lawyers, William Brewer III, says he’s disappointed in the verdict. Leviston’s lawyer, Philip Freidin, declined to comment.

The rapper said that he didn’t actually post the video but that Leviston’s then-boyfriend said she wouldn’t mind.

Leviston said she was horrified and humiliated when it appeared in 2009.
