Ann Wilson On Her Own

Before we close up shop for the night, we thought we should check in on Ann Wilson’s new side project. The schedule for “The Ann Wilson Thing” has grown since the fall outing was announced last month, including gigs in California, New York, Virginia and Tennessee.

The side project, which marks Wilson’s first solo tour, is described as something the Heart singer has always dreamed of doing.

“I’m excited to play unusual songs in small places,” Wilson said. “I am excited to push my creative and vocal boundaries.”

Audience members will be treated to solo material along with songs Wilson “holds in high regard from other artists and writers.” And for those of you who are hoping to hear “Crazy on You” or “Barracuda,” an announcement says the setlist just might include a few Heart classics too.

Plus, some shows will feature a guest performer sitting in for a song. Alison Krauss will stop by the Nashville show at the City Winery.

The initial announcement only had two nights in Annapolis, Md. Here’s how the routing stands today, with additional dates to be added shortly.
