Marc Geiger To Keynote At Bigsound

WME Entertainment head of music Marc Geiger will present a keynote speech at Brisbane, Australia’s Bigsound in September.

Also confirmed as a keynote speaker was Pitchfork senior editor Jessica Hopper, who has authored the tomes “The Girls Guide to Rocking” and “The First Collection of Criticism By A Living Female Rock Critic.”

Bigsound, Sept. 9-11, has established itself as the meet where export-ready Australian acts showcase before global bookers and A&R executives.

Acts to have kick-started their international careers through deals struck as a result include Courtney BarnettFlumeSheppardThe Naked and FamousThe Temper TrapThe Aston Shuffle, and Ball Park Music.

Of the 26 latest speakers announced, from the U.S. live sector were Adam Bauer (Fleming Artists), Adam Lewis (The Planetary Group) and Matt Ash (Raw Power Management). Also heading to Brisbane from Canada are Rob Zifarelli of The Agency Group and, from the UK, Joe Schiavon of Global Live and Sarah Casey of the Leighton Pope Organisation.
