Barclays Facing Suit Over Tumble

The owners of the  and AEG, which operates the building, are facing a lawsuit from a woman who claims the arena’s steep and narrow seating rows led to a concertgoer falling on her during a New Year’s Eve concert. 

 gig was “stumbling in a dangerous fashion from an arena concession stand, passed arena personnel and up a steeply inclined set of steps while attempting to return to his seat,” the suit says.

Further, Silver contends Brooklyn Events Center and AEG should have known about the “unsafe and dangerous nature of the seating design based upon the many prior complaints by other patrons.”

At press time, several reviews posted on Facebook did make note of narrow seats in the upper levels. Silver allegedly suffered permanent injuries in the incident, although details were not disclosed in her suit.
