About 70,000 fans mailed in 500,000 ticket requests, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Deadheads specified which section of the stadium they wanted, with prices ranging from $79.50 to $199.50.

However, the capacity of the concert series was raised after the requests were sent, and several fans complained they were moved to sections that were less desirable and at a lower price level.

One fan told the Tribune he asked for four floor tickets at the $199.50 price for each night of the concert, with the GA pit as his second choice. Instead, he received “cheaper” tickets for each night, with each night in a less desirable area than the one before. He is seeking $1,000.

Shapiro reported that these concertgoers can seek refunds for a maximum of four tickets per show, and requests will take four to six weeks to process, according to the newspaper. Commemorative tickets can be mailed back, as per the rules on Dead50.net.
