Mastodon Cancelations

Today isn’t a good day for fans of Mastodon.  The metal band announced it is canceling shows through early September.

Shaky Knees Music Festival, Central Park, Atlanta, Ga.

Citing a “personal family matter,” Mastodon nixed shows scheduled Aug. 7-Sept. 3.  That includes the band’s Aug. 7 stop at the Heavy Montreal festival as well as Euro festivals like  Aug. 12 at Oya in Oslo, Norway; Aug. 14 at Summer Breeze in Dinkelsbuhl, Germany, and Aug. 21 at Pukkelpop in Hasselt, Belgium.  The band has rescheduled its appearance at Iceland’s Rokkjotnar Festival from Sept. 5 to Dec. 5.

Next stop on Mastodon’s calendar is Sept. 25 at Rock In Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Visit the band’s website for more information.
