Talking Way Out West
Sweden’s Way Out West Music Conference, the now annual chinwag that runs alongside Way Out Festival, has named its speakers for this year’s Aug. 14-15 gathering.
New ILMC chief Greg Parmley, who has already started a new conference that claims to be “the new global hub for the music festival world,” and Tallin Music Week head Helen Sildna are the visiting conference bosses on the bill.
Parmley will also have chance to listen to festival chat from Roskilde festival press officer Christina Bilde, Grímur Atlason from Iceland Airwaves and Chris Tofu from the UK’s Glastonbury Festival.
The acts playing Way Out West Festival Aug. 13-15 include Florence & The Machine, Pet Shop Boys, Ellie Goulding, First Aid Kit, Emmylou Harris, Beck, Patti Smith, and Years & Years.
