Kanye West, Sam Smith, The Who & Coldplay Top iHeartRadio Lineup
Sept. 18-19 is when the fifth annual iHeartRadio extravaganza occupies the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the two-day binge of radio-popular acts also features The Weeknd, Tove Lo, Lil Wayne, Fall Out Boy, Disclosure, Hozier, Jason Derulo, Duran Duran, Prince Royce, Diplo, Trey Songz, The Killers, Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas and Janet Jackson, plus others.
One of those “others” is Christina Grimmie, this year’s winner of Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star competition.
But not all of the action takes place inside the arena.
“Each year we look to create history with the iHeartRadio Music Festival by curating a lineup of the biggest artists from every genre,” iHeartMedia’s president of national programming platforms, Tome Poleman, said. “What makes this show unlike all others is that every artist is a massive star and could easily headline the MGM Arena on their own. With unbelievable live performances and collaborations, every year the iHeartRadio Music Festival and Daytime Village are the ultimate celebrations of artists and music.”
Can’t make it to Vegas for the annual shindig? The event will air live on iHeartMedia radio stations in 150 markets. The show will also stream live on Yahoo Screen each evening beginning at 7:30 p.m. PDT. The CW Network will air an exclusive two-night, prime-time special Sept. 29-30.
“If you are a music fan, you will be able to find this year’s festival everywhere you turn … on the radio, online and on television,” iHeartMedia’s president of entertainment enterprises, John Sykes, said. “By making it available to so many people, we generate billions of social media impressions throughout the weekend.”
A special presale began today for MasterCard users. The general onsale begins Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. EDT. Tickets for the Daytime Village are on sale now. Go to iHeartRadio.com for everything you need to know.
