Knitting Factory Inks Highline Deal

Knitting Factory Entertainment has a new space to book through a deal with New York City’s 700-capacity Highline Ballroom.

Dave Poe has been hired as talent buyer for the north Meatpacking District/Chelsea venue and will also handle business development for Knitting Factory Presents. Poe, who cut his teeth at The Agency Group before taking a talent buying position with Nederlander Concerts in Los Angeles, will relocate to NYC for the job beginning Aug. 10.

“Adding both Dave Poe and The Highline to the Knitting Factory Presents stable in one week is a great step forward for the company,” said KFP President Mark Dinerstein. “While KFE has a strong national reach, it always feels good to increase our presence in our original home city. We’re looking forward to working with Steve [Bensusan] and his folks at The Highline and, with Dave’s help, continuing that venue’s reputation for excellence.”

KFE took over the calendar at the Highline Aug. 3. AEG’s existing promotion deal with the venue will not be affected by the arrangement and the booking teams will continue to collaborate.
