Explosion Kills Stage Manager

Randall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at the Pioneer Amphitheatre at about 6 p.m. when the explosion happened in two storage buildings where fireworks for the musical “Texas” were stored, according to the Amarillo Globe-News.

Peyton Trueblood, a stage manager for the show and student at University of Alabama, was taking inventory at the time of the explosion. Firefighters quickly extinguished a small grass fire sparked by the blast.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident, the paper said.
