Trout Steak Revival Swims Toward Fall

After completing its initial run of 2015 dates a few weeks ago, Trout Steak Revival just announced its fall tour, featuring more than two dozen gigs in the U.S. As the Denver-based bluegrass band says, “The road is calling again.”

Earlier this year Pollstar interviewed Trout Steak Revival banjo player Travis McNamara about how the band got its start, winning the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition, and the March release of its first studio album, Brighter Ever Day.

“We’ve really been road testing the material and I think it’s a really positive, kind of hopeful record,” McNamara told Pollstar. That stuff just feels so good to sing about night after night. … It feels good for [the audience], it feels good for us. We get energy from them and so we just ended up writing some songs that are chasing that.”

The fall tour launches Sept. 12 with a gig in Boulder, Colo. But first the band has a few dates booked in August, including an appearance at Winter Park Beer Festival in Winter Park, Colo., on Saturday. Here’s the plan for the fall:
