Merle Haggard Calls Off 2nd Show At Nashville Music Festival

Country singer Merle Haggard canceled a performance at a Nashville music festival, saying he had a contract dispute with the show’s organizers.

The Tennessean reports that Haggard played at the festival Thursday night, but pulled out of his Friday performance.

Haggard says in a released statement that his management team told him the terms of his contract were not met for the Thursday night show and would not be corrected by showtime on Friday. He released the statement on Facebook just before the Friday 10 p.m. show.

Festival founder Trace Edwards says fans with Friday-only passes were to be given “unlimited access” to the festival for the rest of the weekend.
