David Gilmour Books Up-Close-And-Personal Gig

David Gilmour announced an extra-special show this week. While the rest of the venues on his brief North American tour range in size from the 17,500-cap Forum in Inglewood, Calif., to 23,000-cap United Center in Chicago, this building only has 3,901 seats.

The date and place is April 6 at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre. The gig is scheduled in-between his previously announced Windy City shows at the United Center April 4 and 8.

Gilmour points out that the last time he played the Auditorium Theatre was April 28, 1972 with Pink Floyd.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. CDT. All tickets purchased online in North America come with a copy of Gilmour’s upcoming album, Rattle That Lock, set for release Sept. 18.

In other tour news, Gilmour announced that a limited number of extra seats will be released Friday at 10 a.m. UK time for his Sept. 5 show in Brighton as well as his residency at London’s Royal Albert Hall Sept. 23-25 and Oct. 2-3.
