LA Supes Ponder EDM Ban

A report on the legality of temporarily banning EDM festivals on Los Angeles County property was reportedly delivered to the board of supervisors Aug. 18, but the contents, compiled by county counsel, are considered confidential and were discussed in closed session.

The list of recommendations wasn’t released, and the board does not meet again until Sept. 1 – nine days before “HARD Presents: A Night At ” is scheduled at the same Pomona, Calif., fairground that hosted the recent HARD Summer festival that was the catalyst for the inquiry after the deaths of two teenagers.

“Obviously the board is very concerned about this issue and is currently weighting options which have been laid out in the report by County Counsel,” Tony Bell, a spokesman for Supervisor Mike Antonovich, told the Pasadena Star-News. Antonovich co-authored the bill calling for the report with Supervisor Hilda Solis.
