The ‘Rebirth’ Of Underoath

Having concluded its “farewell tour” more than two years ago, Underoath returns to the road in a big way by announcing a two-month adventure featuring the Christian post-hardcore band performing two of its albums.

January 2013 was when Underoath concluded what was supposed to be the band’s final road trip. Two years later found the group trying to finish a documentary film about that final tour and in July members began teasing fans about an upcoming “rebirth.”  Underoath finally confirmed a reunion when it announced two 2016 festival dates – Self Help in San Bernardino, Calif., March 19 and So What?! in Grand Prairie, Texas, March 20.

Now Underoath is looking at a March-April journey beginning in Saint Petersburg, Fla. – the city where the farewell tour played its final note in 2013.  The outing will feature the band playing the albums They’re Only Chasing Safety and Define The Great Line in their entirety.

“I think the thought of Underoath playing again seemed really exciting,” guitarist Tim McTague said.  “We never thought we’d ever even want to play together again, much less be as excited to do so.  It was a really cool feeling, and when discussing what this tour could be, it just felt right to play the two albums that our fans have held dearly for so many years.  I think it’s going to be really special.”
