No GNR For Soundwave

Soundwave founder AJ Maddah denied rumours sweeping Australia that the original Appetite for Destruction lineup of Guns N’ Roses would headline the three-city January 2016 event.

The story began on Melbourne radio Triple M when one of its regular commentators, club owner James Young, announced a “very well informed heavy-hitter” leaked him the details.

The speculation took hold in the wake of recent reports of a thaw in the relationship between Axl Rose and Slash.

Maddah told Music Feeds, “I sure hope those guys do get back together again as there has never been, or as far as I am concerned ever will be, such a potent force for rock ’n’ roll than the original GNR in full flight.”

However, he believes it will be at least six months before the five members and their lawyers are ready to be in the same room together. Soundwave has already confirmed Bullet For My Valentine, Failure and Australia’s Dead Letter Circus on the bill.
