Never A Dull Moment For Maia Sharp

Opportunities abound to experience Maia Sharp playing in intimate surroundings when the singer/songwriter embarks on an autumn/winter run in support of her latest album.

Sharp, who co-wrote the Bonnie Raitt hit “I Don’t Want Anything To Change” with Liz Rose and Stephanie Chapman, is often described as a “songwriter’s songwriter.” Artists who have recorded her work include Cher, Dixie Chicks, Crystal Bowersox, Lisa Loeb, Trisha Yearwood, Paul Carrack and Edwin McCain.  Performing with her long-time collaborator, multi-instrumentalist Linda Taylor, Sharp not only plays her music but often gives audiences a glimpse into her creative process by detailing what was happening in her life when she wrote specific songs.

Sharp’s new album – The Dash Between The Dates – arrives Oct. 16 on eOne Music.  Guests on the LP include Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart, who co-wrote and plays guitar on “Maybe Tonight.”  Other notables on the record include Lizz Wright appearing on “You Know Where I’ll Be” and “I Don’t Want Anything To Change;” Gabe Dixon singing on “Underneath,” and  Arnold McCuller adding vocals to “Nothing But The Radio,” “Phoenix” and “Real Love.”
