Steven Tyler’s TV Plans

Steven Tyler is ramping up his appearance calendar in support of his first-ever country music album coming out in early 2016.  The Aerosmith frontman is booked for an episode of “Front and Center” and will stop by “Good Morning America” to announce the final CMA noms.

Tyler will appear as part of a CMA Songwriters Series taping on public television’s “Front And Center” Sept. 10 at the Melrose Ballroom in Long Island City, N.Y.  Joining him for stripped down versions of songs from his solo effort will be songwriters Nuno Bettencourt, Marti Frederiksen, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Lindsey Lee and Eric Paslay.  Word is the group will apply the same approach to a few Aerosmith tunes.

“Steven Tyler is one of the greatest creative minds of our times,” Don Maggi, “Front and Center” executive producer, said.  “To have him in this setting stripping down his music to the essence of what makes a great song – paying tribute to that craft – is an honor for us.”

One day before the taping Tyler will amble over to ABC’s “Good Morning America” where he and Kelsea Ballerini will announce the final CMA nominees in five categories during a half-hour segment beginning at 8:30 a.m. EDT/PDT.  The Sept. 9 appearance will also include Tyler performing  “Love Is Your Name” from his solo LP.

But that’s not all, folks.  Following his GMA appearance, Tyler will grace the “Live with Kelly and Michael” set, where he’ll chat about his music with hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.

It was revealed last month that Tyler will perform at the inaugural Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival planned for Sept. 26-27 in Franklin, Tenn. The lineup includes Willie Nelson, The Decemberists, Band Of Horses, Jimmy Cliff, Dawes and others.
