Handsome Tours, Astral People Join Forces
Australia’s Handsome Tours and EDM company Astral People merged touring operations for future electronic, hip-hop and DJ tours.
The Sept. 7 announcement came two days after Astral’s fourth birthday bash in Sydney. Handsome’s Mark Dodds described Astral People as “one of the most forward-thinking and inventive promoters in Australia, bringing some of the world’s best electronic acts to our shores.”
Astral People’s Vic Edirisinghe revealed, “Handsome Tours and their parent company, Inertia, have been huge inspirations for us since day one.”
The two companies had already been collaborating on Sydney’s EDM festival OutsideIn Sept. 26 and Swedish rapper Yung Lean’s three-club inaugural visit Jan. 2-5. Handsome Tours, set up 15 years ago, helped break Bon Iver, The xx, The War On Drugs, The National, SBTRKT, Future Islands and The Lumineers downunder.
