Bullet For My Valentine Invades The U.S.

After spending late August and early September touring with Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine will be back in the States in February for its own headline outing – “The British Invasion Tour.”

The U.K. metal band released its fifth studio album, Venom, in August. The LP hit charts around the world from the U.S. to Australia to Germany.

When Pollstar chatted with vocalist/guitarist Matt Tuck earlier this year he said he thought the intensity of the record would surprise fans.

“I think the only time it lets up is, probably, during the song ‘Venom’ itself, and ‘Hell Or High Water.’ Those are the songs which … [are] a lot more accessible to a non-metalhead, I guess.  I think the majority of the record from start-to-finish is pummeling. … I think that will take a lot of people by surprise, coming after our last record, which was, probably, our least heavy.  [This] is going to be more pounding.  “No Way Out” and “You Want A Battle (Here’s A War)” – those are good indications of what the album sounds like.”

Surprised or not, the music press liked what Bullet For My Valentine served up.

Guitar World proclaimed, “With full throttle aggression and an onslaught of six-string mayhem, the disc more than lives up to its name,” while Kerrang! praised the album for injecting “a whole new life into the British Metal heroes.”
