Young Thug Pulls Plug On Select Dates

Young Thug’s headlining tour has been shrinking as the artist postpones dates so that he can work on his debut album.  Cities no longer on the routing include Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Dallas.

Rumblings about the fate of the tour have been on Pollstar’s radar for the last couple of days as individual venues nixed individual dates.  Today the hip hop artist released a list showing what has been pulled from the schedule.  The announcement also said the postponed dates will be rescheduled for 2016.  Of course, refunds are available at points of purchase.

Here are the postponed dates per today’s announcement:

Sept. 24 – Detroit, Mich.
Sept. 25 – Cleveland, Ohio
Sept. 26 – Cincinnati, Ohio
Sept. 27 – Grand Rapids, Mich.
Sept. 29 – Milwaukee, Wis.,
Oct. 16 – Flagstaff, Ariz.
Oct. 19 – Austin, Texas,
Oct. 20 – Dallas, Texas
Oct. 21 – Houston. Texas
Oct. 23 – Mobile, Ala.
Oct. 27 – Philadelphia, Pa.
Oct. 29 – Sayreville, N.J.
Nov. 1 – Silver Spring, Md.

Today’s announcement states Young Thug is using the time off to “focus on putting the finishing touches” on his upcoming Hy!£UN35 album. 

A New York Times Sept. 13 article seems to reinforce the idea that the up-and-coming artist is extremely detailed-oriented.   Titled “Young Thug’s Music Business Plan: Rap, Sing, Record, Repeat,” the piece says “he’s constantly recording, constantly revising himself and his artistic approach.”  You can read the entire article by following this link.
