A Few Nights With Carly Rae Jepsen
The Canadian pop star is supporting her third studio album, Emotion, which was released in August via Schoolboy Records/Interscope.
The New York Times calls Emotion a “stronger collection” of tunes than her sophomore LP, 2012’s Kiss. Singles includes “Run Away with Me” and “I Really Like You.”
“It’s the result of a long, slow and deliberate build – with a detour to Broadway – by Ms. Jepsen, and patience from her diverse songwriting collaborators and corporate label backers,” the Times says. “Borne of more than 200 songs and a few attempted and aborted styles, the album manages to be cohesive in sound (’80s-influenced synth pop) and message (it’s possible to be coy, grown and sexy all at once). It is also brimming with potential radio singles ripe for group singalongs.”
