Magic Goes With VenueNext

The Orlando Magic have signed on to become the first NBA team to use a new all-inclusive mobile application aimed at enhancing the experience of its fans.

The team announced Monday it has partnered with Silicon-Valley-based tech firm VenueNext to begin using its app inside Amway Center this season. It gives fans a mobile remote control, allowing them to manage tasks such as mobile ticketing, access parking and events, and order food and merchandise from their seats.

Following a soft launch during the preseason the Magic will integrate popular applications into VenueNext by the start of the regular season, including Apple Pay and Google Wallet, as well as a feature for fantasy partner FanDuel.

The NFL’s San Francisco 49ers developed and began using VenueNext at Levi’s Stadium in 2014.
