Jay Z Unveils ‘Tidal X: 1020’ Lineup

People have all sorts of opinions about Tidal, but it would be hard to argue with the star-power of the streaming service’s upcoming charity concert. The initial lineup is topped by Beyoncé, Jay Z and Prince.

Of course Jay Z is on board. After all, he acquired Tidal earlier this year for a reported $56 million in hopes of changing the music industry by offering CD-quality music while paying artists the highest royalty percentage for streams, according to TheVerge.com.

As the name implies, is scheduled Oct. 20. The event takes place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The lineup also includes Usher, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, T.I., Damian Marley, Indochine, Thomas Rhett, and Fabolous. Plus, DJ Cipha Sounds, DJ Reflex, ALessia Cara, Bas, Benjamin Booker, Flatbush Zombies and Justine Skye will be there.

A presale for Tidal subscribers is ongoing now. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Oct. 2 at 12 p.m. EDT.

All proceeds “will benefit nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing positive community relations and effecting systemic change for the development and sustainability of just societies.” For more information visit Tidal.com.
