Fiona Apple, Beck Playing ‘Echo In The Canyon’

A little over 50 years ago The Byrds released its debut album, “Mr. Tambourine Man,” introducing the world to folk rock. Fiona Apple, Beck, Jakob Dylan and a few other Los Angeles-based artists will pay tribute to that famed Southern California music scene with a one-time concert later this month.

takes place Oct. 12 at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre.

The lineup also features Cat Power, Regina Spektor and Jade (formerly of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes).

As for the setlist, it will be made up of the music of The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, The Mamas & The Papas, The Association, Love and others.

The concert will be followed by a companion studio release due out in early 2016. For a sneak peek, check out Cat Power and Jakob Dylan performing the Turtles’ “You Showed Me,” written by The Byrds’ Roger McGuinn and Gene Clark.
