George Wein’s 90th

Newport Jazz Festival founder George Wein recently celebrated his 90th birthday with a performance at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. 

Musicians that took the stage during the event included trumpeter Randy Brecker, clarinetist-saxophonist Anat Cohen, guitarist Howard Alden, drummer Lewis Nash, bassist Jay Leonhart and pianist Frank Kimbrough.

Wein continues to remain active booking the festival, and is currently scouting artists for the 2016 edition of the event.
