NYE Happenings: Billy Joel, Gov’t Mule

New Year’s Eve announcements continue to roll in as we get closer to 2016. Billy Joel is one of the latest artists to firm up his plans for the big night, while Gov’t Mule books a trio of gigs in celebration of the holiday.

After playing his monthly show at New York’s Madison Square Garden Dec. 17, Billy Joel’s next scheduled stop is New Year’s Eve at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla.

The venue is pretty pleased about welcoming 2016 with the Piano Man, who plans on performing hits and classic tracks from throughout his five-decade career.

“We are thrilled to have one of the greatest musicians of all time joining us in South Florida for an incredible New Year’s Eve concert event,” Peter Luukko, Executive Chairman of Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, said. “The one and only Billy Joel will ring in 2016 with us at the BB&T Center. It will be a great night of music and fun for all of South Florida as we welcome the New Year with the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time.”

Gov’t Mule is continuing its long-standing tradition of ringing in the new year at New York’s Beacon Theatre.

Warren Haynes & Co. return to the venue Dec. 30-31. The Beacon Theatre has issued a command to fans – “Don’t miss it.”

The fun continues Jan. 2 with a gig at Philadelphia’s Tower Theater.
