Pete Muller’s Philanthropic Adventure

Worthy causes drive Pete Muller’s upcoming album arriving later this month as well as his five-city tour beginning in Chicago.

The brief outing coincides with the release of the singer / songwriter / philanthropist’s third album, Two Truths and a Lie, arriving Oct. 23.  Muller, who made a name for himself in the world of quant hedge fund management, is donating the sale of each album to nonprofit Charity: Water, which provides save and clean drinking water to developing countries.

Along with the tour and album, Muller is leading a Facebook campaign with the aim of raising up to $50,000 for the organization with 5,000 Facebook shares.  The #2TruthsAndALie social media game challenges people’s knowledge about their friends.  Sharing Muller’s original post while at the same time challenging at least one friend to guess a lie out of #2TruthsAndALie results in Muller donating $10 to Charity: Water.

Back to the album. Forbes.com recently debuted the video for “The Muse.”  Meanwhile, the previously released vid for “Kindred Soul” has racked up more than 25,000 views.

Muller is also working with local charity organizations in each city.  Here’s the schedule:

Oct. 22 – Chicago, Ill., City Winery Chicago (benefit for A Leg To Stand On)
Oct. 23 – Boston, Mass, Berklee College Of Music (benefit for the school’s City Music / AMP UP programs)
Oct. 28 – New York, N.Y., City Winery NYC (benefit for Robin Hood Foundation)
Nov. 2 – Oakland, Calif., Duende (benefit for Room To Read)
