Charles Kelley In The Driver’s Seat
Used to playing arenas and stadiums with Lady Antebellum, Kelley is targeting smaller venues for his solo adventure that includes Lady A guitarist Jason “Slim” Gambill along with a new band.
Kelley will be playing new material, including his first solo single. “The Driver,” with guest vocals by Eric Paslay and Dierks Bentley, arrived last week. Kelley hasn’t announced a release date for the project – or revealed if it will be an EP or album.
“I’ve played some great shows at arenas and amphitheaters, but I’m definitely looking forward to getting into clubs with people grabbing on your legs and being able to see every face,” Kelley said. “I can’t wait to get right up there in it with the fans and try out some of this new stuff we’ve been working on. I’m pretty excited about just scrapping the setlist and playing whatever we feel like playing.”
Singer/songwriter Maren Morris, who co-wrote Tim McGraw’s “Last Turn Home” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Second Wind,” supports Kelley on his solo tour. Oh, and he does plan on singing a few Lady Antebellum hits. Here are the dates:
