SMG Selects GM For Greek

Becky Colwell, a 13-year veteran as GM of the SMG-managed  in Cary, N.C., has been tapped by the company to serve in the same capacity at the  in Los Angeles.

SMG takes over operations of the Greek Nov. 1 from Nederlander Concerts. “Becky has demonstrated an ability to increase the programming at Koka Booth, while also balancing the interest of the constituents there,” SMG Executive VP Doug Thornton said. “That experience, coupled with the experience she ha in Raleigh, N.C., and is a graduate of Auburn University.

Nederlander Concerts CEO Alex Hodges provided Pollstar the following statement regarding his company’s soon-to-be former staff at the Greek. 

“A majority of the full-time staff will remain working for Nederlander Concerts and Rena Wasserman will continue as the SVP of Production and Operations for the company.

“Nederlander Concerts will book shows at the Greek Theatre next year, plus its thriving roster of venues across the West Coast including City National Civic of San Jose, Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, Santa Barbara Bowl, Hollywood Pantages and City National Grove of Anaheim. Nederlander will also book at third-party facilities and seek new opportunities in the future,” said Alex Hodges, Nederlander Concerts CEO.
