Europe In The U.S.

Swedish band Europe will rock the U.S. during the first few weeks of 2016.  The band that gave the world the ’80s hit “The Final Countdown” will include Anaheim, Los Angeles, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale and Atlanta among its destinations.

Europe is touring in support of War Of Kings, released earlier this year.  The band will issue a special edition of the LP Dec. 4 in a package that includes the “Live At Wacken 2015” DVD.

In yet another reminder about how the business of marketing music and bands has changed, Europe is featured in a current television ad for car insurance company GEICO.

Of course, Europe also received attention via the Fox Television sitcom “Arrested Development” a few years ago when “The Final Countdown” served as the theme music for Gob Bluth’s illusionist act.
