ICC Sydney pitches at IMEX America

Ahead of its December 2016 opening, International Convention Centre Sydney was touting its offerings before 1,900 attendees and 3,000 buyers at IMEX America in Las Vegas.

It screened a short film at the Oct. 18-20 international exhibition for incentive travel meetings and events. The film emphasised how ICC Sydney, to be operated by AEG Ogden Group, is branding itself as Asia Pacific’s premier integrated high-tech convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct, underlining Sydney as a desirable meeting and event destinations.

NSW premier, the Minister for Trade, Investment and Major Events and the Lord Mayor of Sydney also featured in the film. Its pitch points included its ability to host three concurrent conventions, a 8,000-seat theatre for entertainment, 35,000 square meters of internal exhibition space, a 5,000-square-meter, open-air event deck to capitalise on Sydney’s temperate climate and Darling Harbour views, and the nation’s largest ballroom.

“ICC Sydney’s smart, contemporary design doubles its capacity while allowing for multiple events to occur across the precinct simultaneously, increasing the area’s vibrancy while adding both large and informal meeting spaces to encourage collaboration and innovation,” said Geoff Donaghy, CEO of ICC Sydney and Convention Centres director for AEG Ogden.
