In 2016 Roskilde will take place June 25 to July 2. It marks the 46th edition of the landmark event, the profits of which are relayed entirely to cultural and humanitarian institutions.

“There have been rumors that RHCP will be back. We’re very excited that it turned out to be true. We’re told the band can’t wait to play at ours again,” said festival program director Anders Wahrén. Besides RHCP, Action BronsonMac Demarco and Courtney Barnett, among others, have already been confirmed.

The organizers are aiming for more than 175 acts to play and upward of 100,000 visitors to attend next year’s edition.

Speaking of RHCP, the band is also going to play Rock am Ring/Rock im Park in Germany and Nova Rock in Austria. MLK’s twin festivals are taking place from June 5-7.

The Austrian flagship rock event, organized by Franz Erhardt’s and Ewald Tartar’s Skalar/Nova Music Entertainment, goes down June 9-12. It marks the first time Nova Rock will stretch out over four days.
