Metallica To Rock ‘The Night Before’ Super Bowl

Metallica will headline CBS Radio’s third annual “The Night Before” concert happening on Super Bowl 50 eve at San Francisco’s AT&T Park.

Feb. 6 is when Super Bowl fans mix with Metallica’s denizens of metal at the home of MLB’s San Francisco Giants.  Super Bowl 50 happens Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., south of San Francisco Bay.

But wait, there’s more.  Cage The Elephant will open the festivities at AT&T Park.

Metallica’s James Hetfield announced the gig while appearing on CBS Radio’s Live 105 (KITS-FM) in San Francisco.  Previous acts that have appeared on “The Night Before” include Red Hot Chili Peppers in New York in 2014 and Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and Florida Georgia Line in Phoenix in 2015.

“How cool is this?” Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said.  “Super Bowl madness, AT&T Park and Metallica all coming together in one over-the-top hometown gig.  We are of course beyond psyched and extremely honored to be flying the flag for not only Bay Area music, but for heavy music in general at CBS Radio’s ‘The Night Before’ 2016 edition.  Get your dancing shoes ready, ’cause this is going to be one next-level uniquely crazy event!”
