The Golden State Warriors hope to play future seasons in a new 18,000-seat arena in San Francisco, shown here in the latest artist rendering.

The Office Community Investment and Infrastructure board’s blessing sets up a vote Nov. 5 at the city’s Planning Commission to allocate 580,000 square feet of commercial space next to the proposed $1 billion, 18,000-seat arena, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The 2,500-page EIR calls for creation of a transportation improvement fund that will be administered by a neighborhood advisory group.

It also includes several transportation improvements for the area including added capacity for nearby public transportation lines and additional parking lots.

The improvements and some $6 million in estimated annual operating costs would be funded by fees on tickets, parking and concessions.
