Yet Another Stadium For Kenny Chesney

The number of stadiums on Kenny Chesney’s “Spread The Love” tour grows to 12 as the country superstar adds an August gig in the Boston area with tickets going on sale in a couple of weeks.

New to Chesney’s schedule is Aug. 26 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.  Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, and Old Dominion are also on the bill.

Chesney is no stranger to the home of the New England Patriots, having played Gillette Stadium 13 times.  His most recent shows at the 68,000-plus capacity venue were Aug. 28-29 when he played to a record-breaking 120,205 fans.

Not only does Boston love Chesney but the performer has plenty of passion for Beantown, having formed the Spread the Love Fund benefiting amputee survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing.

And that was Chesney in the stands when the Red Sox won the World Series.

“Even before we started playing stadiums in 2005, Boston was special,” Chesney said.  “They really listen to the songs. … They really rock hard when you put it out there. … And it’s a place where I can bring my friend Gretchen Rhodes out to sing a song like ‘Happy On The Hey Now,’ and people just get it.  Those are some kind of fans, and when we get there, I know it’s going to be the kind of night worth waiting all summer for.”
